San Francisco FrontRunners is the founding chapter of a worldwide network of running clubs for the LGBT community and our friends. First-time runners and visitors are presented with welcome ribbons. Beginners are mentored as they are introduced to the various course paths.

We warmly welcome new participants at every weekly run.

Tuesday: We meet downtown at the Ferry Building at 6:30pm for a 3- or 5-mile run out and back along the Embarcadero, through the Municipal Pier and past Aquatic Park.

Saturday: This is our largest weekly event - often over 100 runners, walkers and dogs participate! We meet at the Stow Lake Boathouse in Golden Gate Park, rain or shine. Courses include:

  • Stow Lake, a 1-mile walk/run
  • Carousel, a 3-mile run through the East end of the park
  • Bison, a 4-mile run through the West end of the park
  • Beach, a 5-mile run to the ocean and back
